3, 4 and 5 June we were in Limburg for a challenging cycling adventure in the ‘Dutch Mountains’. Our ‘home from home’ was a comfortable hotel in Slenaken.
After a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast we set out for our first day of cycling. A varied route (110km) took us into Germany via the Drielandenpunt, then up to Valkenburg and back down to Slenaken. What a fantastic day of cycling we had: sunny weather, great views, amazing teamwork and a delicious lunch stop!
On day 2 we cycled through parts of Belgium, via Mechelen and Gulpen up to the steep and challenging Keutenberg. During lunch in Schin op Geul some heavy rain showers followed each other. As it kept raining cats and dogs, we decided to take a shortcut back to the hotel. Even these heavy showers couldn’t bring our team spirit down or make smiles any less bigger after we finished our ride. We all agreed; this was a fantastic cycling weekend. Let’s do it again next year!
