About our Allround Winter Club Training
About our trainers
Rob Klerkx (our club trainer)
Growing up in Brabant, Rob started training and racing at an early age. Though he chose for a professional career in music, he kept cycling and also developed himself as a personal and cycle trainer. Rob knows better than anyone else how to transfer his passion for cycling to other cyclists. Especially by emphasizing the dynamics and surprising variety in aspects of this exciting sport. Rob’s personal approach, solid training structure, regular references to pro cycling and sense of humor characterise his trainings. He knows how to get the best out of everybody!
Stach Aarts (our guest trainer for the Indoor Cycling Specialties)
Another Brabander. He started watching the Tour de France with his dad during the summer holidays as a teenager. Though Stach was initially more into ball sports (football, rugby, golf and lots of tennis), he bought his first racing bike in 2008 and put his fascination of watching the pros into practice. A couple of years later he started running and swimming as well. When he bought his first time trial bike, his triathlon passion began, all the way up to full distance racing. Although Stach loves racing his TT-bike, he probably enjoys riding up an Alpe or Dolomite even more. Besides his outdoor activities, he’s a certified and very experienced indoor cycling trainer as well. The combination of working as an educational specialist/teacher ánd sports makes Stach the cycling instructor and running coach he is: his philosophy of always asking ‘why’ and ‘how’ will absolutely challenge you, make you a little fitter and just a little wiser:-)
Annewytske Weber (our guest teacher for the Yoga for Cyclists Specialty)
Annewytske is a certified and experienced yoga teacher next to her work as a consultant. After spending three decades on the hockey field she discovered yoga. At first se saw it as ‘just’ a physical workout to become stronger and more flexible. Over the years and through various courses and trainings, she discovered different layers within yoga which deepened her practice. Yoga became her passion and anchor in challenging times. With years of experience and professional certification, she knows beter than anyone else how yoga can be the perfect complement to other sports. Se will guide you through targeted poses and breathing techniques designed to optimise your cycling performance. It will empower you to ride stronger, recover faster, and help you prevent injuries.
About the trainings
How to become a better – and faster – rider? There’s a lot you can do to develop yourself on the road bike. But for further progress and to be able to transfer your power efficiently to the pedals, you really have to expand your cycling with strength, core, stability and mobility training, and stretching too.
Winter is the perfect season to work on this. That is why we strongly recommend all our (future) members who want to join us during the outdoor season to also train with us during the off-season.
Good full-body condition, physical balance and fitness help you increase your power, improve your position on the bike, recover faster and prevent injuries. To keep doing the things you love for longer, feeling strong, balanced and healthy. Challenge yourself to build the better athlete within you, both on and off the bike.
- Build up your endurance and strength condition.
- Work on a more balanced body by training your core stability, suppleness and mobility.
- Work on your strength, speed and flexibility by training on an indoor bike.
- Work on your explosive ánd total power.
- Learn how to recover and to prevent injuries.
