After last year’s success, we organised another adventurous trip to this ultimate haven for road cyclists. Five days of cycling through the challenging Spanish landscape with a great pack of PEAK-buddies. What a great start of the new cycling season!
Every turn of the pedal in the enchanting countryside and in the mountains leads to a new discovery. We conquered countless exciting climbs and downhills and meandered along the spectacular coastline. Each of us at his/her own level and with great teamwork. Even the rain and storm couldn’t stop us from a two-day trip with an overnight stay in the charming village of Cadaqués.
After a nice and hot shower we immersed ourselves in the rich culture, vibrant atmosphere, and stunning vistas Girona has to offer. Replaying the day’s events and looking forward to the next. Having a drink at cycling cafés like La Fábrica or Hors Categorie to get inspired and admire the LOOK time trial bike Erik Breukink used during the Tour de France of 1994. Enjoying the international cuisine and refuelling for the next ride:-)
There was also time to put some members in the spotlight. We celebrated René’s birthday with a great dinner at his favourite tapas restaurant Txalaka. Sanne absolutely deserved to be our PEAK-er of this trip. All our credits go out to her because of her perseverance and positive attitude. We will never forget her post-ride smiles:-) We hope you love your Bikecat Girona cap!
As proud PEAK-ers we look back on an adventurous week filled with camaraderie and breathtaking scenic routes. We absolutely took our cycling to the next level. An unforgettable and rewarding experience for everyone.
