On 6, 7 and 8 August we set off for a cycling adventure in beautiful Limburg; attacking steep climbs and enjoying the beautiful landscape. Our ‘home from home’ for the weekend was a comfortable hotel in Epen.
After a good night’s sleep we kicked off our weekend with the Castelijns route, a personal favourite of our member Maarten. This fantastic, varied route took us along old castles, via Heerlen across the border to Belgium and included lunch in Maastricht, and 1 flat tire. A fantastic day to warm up the legs for Day 2!
Day 2: the 20 PEAKS route! As the name suggests, this route was the more challenging one of the 2. Taking us up and down less known – often steep – climbs via the Drielandenpunt along Heerlen and Wijnandsrade down south again, to Reijmerstock and Mechelen back ‘home’ to Epen. What a day!
And what a weekend! Already looking forward to next year 🙂
